Privacy Policy

This explains what data Newbiie collects, why, and what your rights are. Newbiie is a UK-based marketplace; the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR is Newbiie, contactable at admin@newbiie.com.

What we collect

Calendar connections

Connecting a calendar is optional and off by default. You can connect one by pasting a public iCal or webcal link, by signing in with Google, or by signing in with Apple using an app-specific password.

What we read

We read the events in your connected calendars from the past 12 months to 2 years ahead, and store, for each one: its start and end time, its title, its location where the calendar provides one, and an identifier so we can recognise the same event on the next sync. We skip events you have marked as Free, cancelled events, and invitations you have declined.

What other people see

By default, visitors to your profile see only that you are busy — a block of time, with no detail. Titles and locations are shown publicly only for calendars where you have turned on "Share titles + location", which is per calendar and off unless you enable it. We store the title and location either way, so the setting takes effect immediately rather than waiting for the next sync.

What we write

When a booking is confirmed, we create an event for it in the calendar you nominate, and update or remove that event if the booking is rescheduled or cancelled. We only ever touch events that we created — we never modify or delete your own events.

The permissions we ask Google for

We request permission to manage events on your calendars, and read-only access to the list of your calendars so you can choose which one bookings are written to. We do not ask for permission to create or delete entire calendars.

Credentials, and how to revoke them

For Google we store a long-lived access token; for Apple, the app-specific password you provide. Both are held in a private, server-only area that no other user and no browser can read. You can disconnect a calendar at any time from Profile → Calendar, which deletes our copy and, for Google, revokes our access at Google. Deleting your Newbiie account does the same thing automatically. You can also revoke us directly from your Google account permissions page.

Why we collect it

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share narrowly with Stripe (payments and Connect KYC), Firebase / Google Cloud (hosting, auth, storage), Resend (transactional email), Sentry (error reporting), and Gelato (only if you order printed flyers).

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, port or restrict the use of your personal data. Email admin@newbiie.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
